Baby websites are especially helpful for new moms and moms-to-be. They provide essential information about child development, common infections and illnesses, and reviews of the latest baby and child friendly products. Baby websites also contain articles on fun things you can do with your kids, the best ways to handle a temper tantrum, and unique options for decorating your nursery.

Most of the baby websites I frequent cover from pregnancy to kindergarten. The best way to navigate these sites is to look at headings listed across the top of the page. Some websites will put the headings down the side, but this is less common. Choose the heading that best fits your circumstances. For example, if your child is just about to enter preschool, click the “Preschool” heading. If you have a child entering the toddler stage, however, then you would click on the “Toddler link.” Scroll through the articles until you find the information you’re looking for.

Another option for navigating baby websites is to use the search box if the website has one. Most major baby sites will have one. This is the ideal option if you have a specific topic you want to research, such as “baby teething schedules” or “how to make your own baby food.” Utilizing the search box can cut your scrolling time in half.

Make sure you take the time to contribute to the baby websites. Most of these sites allow you to leave comments. If you learned something from one of the articles, leave a comment so that other parents who read it will know what worked. Maybe after reading the article you had a thought that would add to the value of the article. You can leave your thoughts in the comment section. I know I frequently read the comment sections to gain even more insight from parents who have dealt with the issues being discussed in the articles.

Also, keep a look out for baby websites that come complete with calculators. Ovulation calculators can help you determine when you are most likely to get pregnant. Pregnancy calculators can give you a due date while you are waiting to get to the obstetrician’s office to get an official date. In addition to calculators many baby websites have calendars and charts that you can use. You can keep track of your baby’s development with a calculator, or follow your baby’s growth with a growth chart.
